It was very obviously siesta time for the town, so we headed back to the Pension Arsenis on the outskirts of Meteora for an afternoon rest, with the intention of visiting a monastery later that afternoon.

The floor length and shuttered windows of our room opened onto the shared balcony with clear views of a monastery topped Meteora rocks and the mountains. It was very pleasant to sit in the afternoon sun, enjoying the view, and the peace and quiet of the countryside whilst contemplating other places to visit.
